Sara Ann Haas

Sara Ann Haas, 66, concluded her 35 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis and went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2010. Devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother, Sara was born in Summit, Arkansas on December 10, 1943, the daughter of Mark and Janie Linck. A graduate of Yellville Summit High School in 1961, Sara received a bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Sara worked as a buyer for various companies after college, including Hallmark Corporation. Sara married Wesley Haas, the love of her life for 39 years, on September 11, 1971 in Summit, Arkansas. The true joy of Sara's life was raising her two sons with Wes. The family lived in Colorado for years and enjoyed camping there before eventually settling in Lincoln, Neb. As the boys grew, Sara was a proud mom chauffeuring the boys to countless soccer, basketball, golf, baseball and tennis events throughout junior high and high school. Sara was passionate about her love of reading, cooking, quilting, and volunteering at the Lied Center. She is survived by her loving husband, Wesley Haas; her sons and daughters-in-law of whom she was so proud: Jonathan and Jessica Haas, and Mark and Mindee Haas; her grandchildren who were the light of her life: Ainsley, Rylan, Callie and Sophia; and her sister and brothers: Marketa Burns and her husband Ralph, Matt Linck and his wife Holly, and Tim Linck and his wife Cindy. Her entire family loved Sara dearly and supported Sara in countless ways throughout her life's journey. Memorial services 11 a.m., Saturday, St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Boulevard, Lincoln with Rev. Ray Norris officiating. Cremation. No visitation.
