Casper Clyde Shelton

Casper Clyde Shelton, age 79, of Gilmer, Texas, formerly of Hamburg and Eudora, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas. He was born September 7, 1930, in Eudora, Arkansas and was a retired farmer and Army veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany during his wartime service. He was known in Ashley County as Pat Shelton. He enjoyed his garden and enjoyed people stopping by and buying vegetables from him when he lived in Hamburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jeannette Shelton, a daughter, Linda Wilson, sisters, Irene Gray, Margie Hopkins and Jo McCullough and brother, Bill Shelton. He is survived by 2 sons, Carl and Raymond Shelton of Texas; his twin brother, Kenneth Shelton of Lake Village; a sister, Flora Haley of Redfield; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Village. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
