Hardy Joseph Banks

Hardy Joseph Banks Sr., 79, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010. He was born on July 31st, 1931 to the late King Hardy and Isabelle Louise (Turner) Banks in Little Rock. He served in the Korean War and worked for many years at the Post Office. Hardy was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. He loved to sing and was a member of the choir for many years. He was the founding member of the Good Counsel Dinner Theater which has continued for over 23 years. "Pa" as his grandchildren affectionately call him, loved animals and tended the strays in his neighborhood. He enjoyed old movies and spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of over 46 years, Florence; his children: Hardy Banks, Jr and his wife Robin, Elizabeth Mentgen and her husband Matthew and Patrick Banks and his wife Cindy; his sister: Sister Noeline Banks; his grandchildren Derik, Tyler, Will, Belle and Marietta; and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 20th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 19th at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204.
