Anne Elizabeth Porter Matheny was born in Helena, Arkansas on May 5, 1940 to Edward Linthicum Porter and Marguerite Taylor Porter. Anne graduated from Little Rock Central High School and married Jerry Matheny in May 1958. Together they founded the Arkanas Service Organization, to help the poor and disadvantaged and the Progressive Democrats of Arkansas. Anne loved Little Rock and lived there over 30 years. She was named Student of Distinction at Sacramento City College in California and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport, Conn. She was an English teacher. Anne loved to write, paint and cook. Anne was predeceased by her sister Ellen Porter Boyd. She is survived by her three children; daughter, Shannon Matheny Geraghty and sons, Mike and Jim. Also, their spouses, Joe, Maryann and Jenny, and seven grandchildren; Joey, Erin, Jamie, Catie, Connor, Lauren and Kyle. She is also survived by her sweetheart Jack "Manuel" Mulvey. She will remain in our heart always and will be sorely missed.
