Vernon E. Hardcastle

Vernon E. Hardcastle, 96, of North Little Rock was born April 30th, 1914 in a log cabin near Jacksonville, Arkansas and passed away on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010. Mr. Hardcastle was retired from the State Highway Department and served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and was also a member of Sylvan Hills Community Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Beatrice and his sisters, Esther, Mary and Sabra. Survivors include his nieces, Vicki Olsen and Carolyn Patton and nephews, Bob Shumate, Bill Shumate, Michael Watts, Louis Watts and Rodney Davis. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20th, 2010 at 2 p.m. with a visitation at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock. 501-835-3515 Officiating will be Bro.
