Kenneth Ray Lavender, 82, of Mabelvale, passed away August 27, 2010. Born in Matthews, Missouri to Rufus and Cora Lancaster Lavender, he was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Bradshaw Lavender; two sons, Dr. Robert Lavender and wife, Darla of Little Rock and Thomas Lavender and wife, Shelley of Chesterfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lauren, Charles and Taylor; one brother, Charles and his wife, Laura of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Bob Bradshaw of Bridgeton, Missouri; and special nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken was employed by Picker X-Ray Company in St. Louis before moving to Little Rock in 1967 where he worked in X-Ray Sales and Service at the William T. Stover Company. In 1987, he formed his own company, X-Ray Equipment Locators, Inc. He retired in 1998. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved the outdoors where he spent many hours working in his vegetable and flower gardens. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, celebrated by Rev. Mark Wood, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7:00 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.).
