Richard "Dicky" Alma Dewar

Richard "Dicky" Alma Dewar, age 82, of Camden died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. He ws born on July 06, 1928, the son of Alma "Dan" and Mae Hollis Dewar. He retired from the Camden Post Office after 37 years and was a clerk at the Cullendale post office at the time of his retirement. Her served in the Navy during World War II a nd in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was currently the Sunday School secretary, having served in that position for 17 years. He also was very active in the Methodist Men. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Hayley Howard. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Richard and his wife, Charmayne of Camden; two daughters, Robin Darden and her husband, Dennis and Karen Howard and her husband, Pat all of El Dorado. He had five grandchildren, Tyler Dewar of Camden, Jayme Darden Stegall and her husband, Jerry, Justin Darden and his wife, Crystal all of El Dorado; Holly Howard of Benton and Lindsay Howard of Jonesboro. There are also five great grandchildren, Cole Hagler, Collin Stegall, and Rylee, Ethan and Gracyn Darden. Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Fairview United Methodist Church with Revs. Pam Brulé and Mike Wilke officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Visitaiton will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fairview United Methodist Church in Camden.
