Henry "Hank" Darrell Fender Jr.

On Saturday, August 21, 2010, the good Lord called Henry "Hank" Darrell Fender Jr., 56, to his final resting place...in Heaven. He was born April 22, 1954, at Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Henry Darrell Fender Sr. and Sue Evelyn (Singley) Fender. Mr. Fender graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1972. He attended Arkansas State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1975 and a Master Degree of Business Administration at Auburn University in 1996. He was in the Healthcare field for 35 years as a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Hank was employed by various hospitals which included: Trinity Medical Center in Brenham, Texas, Randolph County Medical Center in Pocahontas, Arkansas, Beverly Hills Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California, and Poplar Bluff Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Hank was active in many organizations. He was Board Certified in Healthcare Management and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Fellow Healthcare Financial Management Board, Texas Association of Healthcare Financial Administration Board, and Vice President of Pocahontas Rotary and Poplar Bluff Lions. Hank enjoyed going to Dolphin swim team meets, Brenham Belles' activities and using the "clapper" at the football games. Hank enjoyed cooking, all outdoor sports including golf, fishing, hunting and basketball, and spending time with family and friends. Hank married Angela McKenzie of Evergreen, Alabama, and she survives. Also surviving are two beautiful daughters of the home, Haley McKenzie Fender, 15, and Hannah Sue Fender, 11; his mother, Sue Evelyn (Singley) Fender, of Paragould, Arkansas; one brother, Dr. Steve (Bobbie) Fender of Sherwood, Arkansas; one sister, Cynthia (Dennis) Rowe of Paragould, Arkansas; niece, Rachel Rowe of Paragould, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, Betty McKenzie of Evergreen, Alabama; three brothers-in-law, Greg McKenzie of Pace, Florida, George McKenzie of Evergreen, Alabama, and Ronny McKenzie of Montgomery, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. Hank was preceded in death by his father, Henry Darrell Fender Sr. A private memorial service was held for the family and friends in Doniphan, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held in Brenham, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship has been established at Chase Bank in Brenham, Texas, for Haley and Hannah Fender.
