James F. Filek

James F. Filek, Jr., age 55, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 in Chanhassen, MN. He was born January 29th, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Helen Perry Filek. James retired from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, having received the Air Force Accommodation and Achievement Medals. He served during Vietnam, Persian Gulf, and the Desert Storm Wars. After his retirement he served as police officer with Camp Robinson and Pulaski Tech Police Departments James is preceded in death by his father James Sr. and his son Steven. James will be remembered by his loving wife, Susan and their son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Tamara; and grandson Nathan. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Filek. A viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas with Monsignor John O'Donnell officiating under the direction of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood.
