Marvie Marie Smith, age 82, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on November 30, 2010. She was born April 2, 1928 in Lockesburg, Arkansas to the late Joseph R. Holman and Cora Elizabeth Brown. Marvie worked as a registered nurse at the Arkansas Children's Hospital having retired after 38 years of faithful service and was a charter member of PACNA (PeriAnesthesia Care Nurses of Arkansas). A member of the Mabelvale Church of Christ, she was a lifelong student of the Bible and a faithful follower of Christ. Her generous and loving heart were a gift to everyone who knew her. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed. Survivors include one son, David Smith of Little Rock, Ark.; one daughter, Nancy May (Lew) and one grandson, Patrick May all of Bloomington, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her husband James Charlie Smith and her sister Murble Self. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Mabelvale Church of Christ with Dennis Gulledge officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. A visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas (501) 455-1067.
