Dwaine A. Polk, age 76 Alexander, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center. He was born June 30, 1934 in Mabelvale, Arkansas to his late parents Earl M. Polk and Rama Holt. Dwaine was a Veteran of the United States Marines having served in the Korean War and was a member of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Alice Polk; four daughters, Dorothy Burks of Alexander, Ark., Alice Holliman (Farris) of Conway, Ark., Terri Stephens (David) and Sarah Ann Polk Nichol (Bear) all of Alexander, Ark.; two sisters, Linda Hester (Leonard) of Alexander, Ark. and Sharon Rimmer (Johnny) of Guy, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his step-mom Thelma Polk; two sons, James W. Burks and Charles E. Burks and three brothers, Ronnie, Gary and Richard Polk. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Ark. (501) 455-1067 with Reverend Michael West officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Funeral Home.
