Richard Davis

Richard Davis of Little Rock, Ark., 75, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2010. He was born January 22, 1935 in Menifee, Arkansas to Mary and Allen Green Sr. Richard was a long time member and deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Later, he united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he remained faithfully until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Johnetta Rene' Davis. Memories will be cherished by his devoted wife of 48 ½ years, Ida Davis; two daughters, Juanita E. Davis, of Houston, Texas and Richelle A. Davis McCoy (James Jr.), of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Allen Green, Jr. (Cheryl), of San Antonio, Texas and Claude Green (Louise), of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Ricardo E. Davis, of Manhattan, New York, Jasmyne and Jayla McCoy, of Louisville, Kentucky; one godson, Nathaniel Noble (Jamilyn), of Little Rock; two goddaughters, Selandria L. Jackson and Colecia Harris, both of Little Rock; and two sisters-in-law, Ladie Shelton and Verma Simmons, both of Little Rock. The family hour will be today, December 3, 2010, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester St., LR (501) 372-1305. A celebration of life will be Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 12 noon, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor C. Dennis Edwards, I. officiating.
