William David "Bill" Parker, of Redfield, Ark., formerly of Russellville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the age of 91. A native of Pope County, He was born April 12, 1919 to Lillie Humphrey Parker and J.L. Parker. Bill was the baby of 10 children. "Pops" as he was lovingly referred was drafted into the United States Army for World War II. He served in the South Pacific. Later Bill went to barber school and worked independently for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Pottsville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings and his loving wife Martha Louise Bonds Parker. Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Ann Speir & husband Conrad of Redfield, Nancy Fetters & husband Kenny of Benton, Rita Jackson of Reno, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several very special nieces and nephews. uneral will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Humphrey Chapel. Reverend Jim Huffman and Reverend John Mooney will officiate. Arrangements are by Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
