Glenda Hale Shock

Glenda Hale Shock of Conway, Arkansas, passed over to the other side on December 7, 2010. She was born at Pearcy, Arkansas, on August 6, 1924, to James Arthur Hale and Alma Gertrude Wallace Hale. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jackie A. Shock, who faithfully cared for her and loved her dearly. She is also survived by her five children, Camellia Jackson and husband David of Texarkana; Jackie Shock II of Vilonia; Robert Shock and wife Kaye of Spring, Texas; Debbie Moreland and husband Keith of Conway; Steve Shock and wife Sue of Vilonia; 13 loving grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Wanda McNinch of Enola; and many friends and brothers and sisters-in-Christ at Robinson & Center church of Christ. Glenda graduated high school from Enola, Arkansas, in 1942; and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers' College (UCA) in 1947, with a BSE. She taught school in Texarkana, Texas; Plumerville and Center Ridge, Arkansas, and retired from Conway Human Development Center in 1972. Glenda was a devout Christian wife and mother. She taught the 4-year old Bible class at Robinson & Center church of Christ for many years. She loved reading and spending time with her beloved family. She always had kind and positive words for everyone and was such a loving friend, mother and wife. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010, at the church. Funeral will be 11 a.m., at Robinson & Center Church of Christ, with Brothers Billy Blakeney of Foreman, Arkansas and Steve Norris officiating. Burial will be at Heffington Cemetery at Enola, with her grandsons, Adam Shock, Caleb Shock, Brandon Moreland, Nathan Moreland, Aaron Shock, David Lee Jackson and Joshua Shock, serving as pallbearers. Her loving granddaughters are Hannah Moreland Colvin, Sara Beth Shock, Holli Jackson Long, Jacqueline Shock Anderson, Vickie Jackson Spelce, Stephanie Shock Cobbe.
