Ralph Wayne Doty

Colonel Ralph Wayne Doty (USAF Ret.), age 89, of Sevierville, Tennessee, (a native of Attala County, Mississippi) passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010. Mr. Doty retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 23 years. He completed 40 combat missions and received the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross with Clusters. He was the last living member of his combat crew. Mr. Doty also served as the Civil Service Historian at Little Rock AFB. He was preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Mary Ella Doty, brother, Lamar Doty and sisters, Helen Doty Bailey and Elaine Doty Gladney. He is survived by his wife Debra Doty; children, Ralph Doty Jr., Stephen Doty, Cheryl Doty Commerce; brothers, Daniel O'Leary Doty; sister, Lyndal Doty Baldwin; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family had received friends 2-3 p.m. Thursday with funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. at Church of the Valley. Rev. Bruce Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
