Bessie E Rowland

On Angel's wings; wife, mother grandmother, and sister, BESSIE ELDER ROWLAND, age 81, of Sherwood, Ark., peacefully left this life to take her place in Heaven on Dec. 1, 2010. Bessie, known to many as Bess, passed away at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock after a sudden but brief illness. Bess always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face which those who knew and loved her could always count on to make their day brighter. Bessie is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Elder; her Mother, Josie Elder; a son, Randy L. Rowland; and a brother, Reverend Albert Elder. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray Rowland of Sherwood; two sons, Sandy Rowland (Cathy) of Little Rock and Rick Rowland (Nancy) of Hensley; her granddaughter, Rebecca Rowland of Sherwood; brother, William "Bill" Elder of Japan; and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, Hwy 107 and Maryland Avenue, Sherwood, Ark. 72120 in CAC Cafeteria from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Arrangement made by Roller-Owens Funeral Home (501) 791-7400.
