George Wygal Harrison Jr.

George Wygal Harrison Jr. of El Dorado Hills, Calif. passed away suddenly on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010. He was born April 1, 1948 to Mr. and Mrs. George Wygal Harrison in El Dorado, Ark. He attended the University of Arkansas and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He spent many years in the oil and gas business and had lived in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas before recently relocating to California, home of his nephew, Jack, and his wife, Mary-Ann. George was an eternal optimist in the face of ongoing medical issues and other hardships, was always full of life, spirit and character, was a great cook and lover of good food and fine wine and was fiercely loyal to family and friends. Most importantly, to his family and friends that are scattered far and wide, he had a good heart and soul, will be missed and certainly never forgotten. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Wygal Harrison and Jackie Lou Harrison and grandparents Jack and Jessie Edwards. Survivors include his beloved dog, Lady; daughter, Pace; her husband, Derek and new granddaughter Miller of Tennessee. Other survivors include his sister, Georgianna Coggins; her husband John Coggins; niece, Ashley, husband Will and their children Avery, Arden and Trip all of Texas, and nephew Jack and his wife, Mary-Ann of California. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at First Baptist Church of El Dorado, Ark., with a memorial service with remembrances from family and friends directly following. A brief graveside service for family and friends will follow the memorial service. Arrangements are by Young's Funeral Directors of El Dorado, Ark.
