Grady J. Greene, Jr.

Grady J. Greene Jr., 79 of Russellville, passed away Sunday in Russellville. He was born December 19, 1930 in Stuttgart, Ark. He was the son of the late Grady J. Greene Sr. and Vivian Moss Gooch Greene, a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea, a Mason and a Methodist. He was a square dance caller. He graduated with his Dr's (EDD) in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colo., and accepted a position in the Music Department at Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico where he retired as the Head of the Department of Fine Arts and moved to Fullerton, Texas. He remained active in the community as a member of the Rock Port Lodge No. 323 AF&AM. In 2002, Grady and Mary Ruth returned to Arkansas settling down in Russellville. Grady continued working arranging music for Brass and assisting with the summer Band Camps. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Warren Greene of Russellville; his son, David Greene of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughter, Jennifer Greene and great-granddaughter, Heylei Ann Grace Greene of T or C, New Mexico and grandson, T.J. Greene of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services are at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 18 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be at Campground Cemetery.
