RICHARD H. BURLESON, 96, of Little Rock passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010. Richard was born in Chidester, Ark. the second child of C.J. and Fannie Burleson. His beloved wife, Norma, passed away in 2006 after 63 years of marriage. Richard retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Manager of Mail Processing in Little Rock after over 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, NARFE, and American Legion Post 334; he served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by daughter Barbara Fryxell and her husband, Buddy, of Little Rock; son R. Kelly Burleson and his wife, Janelle, of Arvada, Colo. and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, C.J. Burleson Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Kerrville, Texas. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Poindexter and one great-grandchild, R. Kelly Burleson Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th.
