Alton Turnage Lusinger

Alton Turnage Lusinger, 87, of Cabot died Monday, December 20, 2010. He was born March 13, 1923 in Pine Bluff to the late Thomas Arthur and Alta Mae Hall Lusinger. Mr. Lusinger was a member of the Methodist Church, a retired brick layer and a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 4455 in Pine Bluff serving in the United States Navy. Mr. Lusinger served in the South Pacific during World War II aboard the USS Pennsylvania and earned seven Battle Stars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Tucker and all of his siblings. Mr. Lusinger is survived by his wife Jewell B. Lusinger, his children; Cherry Cotham of Monticello, Terry Lusinger of Leslie and Hardy Lusinger of Bartlesville, Oklahoma as well as a sister-in-law Eva Dell Lusinger of Pine Bluff. Also surviving him are his grandchildren; Curt Socia, Matt Socia, Jason Maier, Kyle Tucker, Chris Tucker, Michael Lusinger, Amber Munnerlyn and Allison Andrews as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with Brothers Buddy Lemons and Wes Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
