Maggie Rogers Honea

Maggie Rogers Honea, 82, of El Dorado passed away peacefully on Monday, December 20th, 2010, after a brief illness. Born August 20th, 1928, in Columbia County, Ark., she was the daughter of Samuel Wesley Rogers and Mary Alexander Rogers. She was a graduate from Magnolia A&M College, now known as Southern Arkansas University. In addition, she was a homemaker as well as a retired bookkeeper for Milam Construction Company and the Shackleford Law Firm. Maggie was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church, a sustaining member of the El Dorado Service League, former Board Member of the TAC House, an Auxiliary Board Member of the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club, and active in the PTA's of Northwest Elementary, Barton Jr. High School, and El Dorado High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Bill Honea; and sister, Josephine Rogers Watts. Survivors include a son, William Michael Honea and his wife Lisa of Little Rock; a daughter, Michele Honea Foster and her husband John of El Dorado; grandchildren Caroline Honea of Little Rock and Ryan and Bradley Foster of El Dorado; niece, Paula Wenner and nephew, Mark Watts. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.., Thursday, December 23, 2010, at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Pam Brule' and Brittany Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday night, December 22, 2010, at the funeral home. They will be at the Foster residence, 717 Woodview Drive, El Dorado.
