Faye Myra (Miller) Leverett, 87, of Jacksonville went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 27, 2010. Born to Emma (Robinson) and Warren Miller in Blairstown, Iowa on January 24, 1923, she was the middle of three children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joe Leverett. She was also preceded in death by her beloved older brother Al Miller and younger sister Lucille (Miller) Henderson. As a young woman, she began a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She shared this love of Christ with her three surviving children, John Leverett of Beebe, Cheryl Dodd of Jacksonville, and Colleen Vicari of Dallas, Texas. Throughout her life of service, she dedicated her time to her family, her church and her community. She spent nearly 20 years in civil service with the United States Air Force. In 1979, she received a special commendation for suggesting an efficiency measure implemented throughout the Force. Her service continued into her retirement as a 17-year member of the Rebsamen Hospital Auxiliary where she was honored as the 1996-97 Volunteer of the Year. She will be remembered as a longtime and generous member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She is also survived by five granddaughters Shannon (Leverett) Kingery, Amanda (Dodd) Lindsey, Samantha Garrison, Macy Garrison and Cydney Garrison and three grandsons, Joseph Leverett, Wesley Dodd and David Leverett and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Reverend Cliff Hutchins officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
