Virgil Lee Brown

Virgil Lee Brown, 60, of Alexander, Ark., passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was born January 20, 1950, in Jonesboro, Ark., to the late Virgil A. and Marie Brown. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Virgil served during the Vietnam War and was awarded several medals including three Bronze Service Stars, one Silver Service Star, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal and a Purple Heart. His favorite activities were hunting, fishing and enjoying a good meal. He is survived by one brother, Billy Brown and wife Kathy of Jonesboro, Ark.; one sister, Mary Davenport and husband Terry of Alexander, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander (501-455-1067). Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 10201 Hwy. 5 North, Little Rock.
