John H. Rupert, 64, of Benton, Ark., formerly of Fordyce, Ark., passed away suddenly on Friday, July 2, 2010, while camping on Lake Ouachita. He was born July 9, 1945, in Orange, Texas, to the late Voyle Lee and Hazel Mae Rupert. John retired from Alltel after 32 years of service and received the President's Award in 1992. A member of Otter Creek Assembly of God Church, he served as a Deacon and was a man of God. John enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Bert Rupert. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Betty Rupert; one daughter, Mary Jon Ethridge and husband Tony of Benton, Ark.; one son, Jason Rupert and wife Lezle of Bentonville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Evan Ethridge and Blair Rupert; one sister, Emily Beckmann of Toledo, Ohio; three nieces; and three nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8: p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark. (501-455-1067). Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Otter Creek Assembly of God Church, 9415 Stagecoach Rd, Little Rock, Ark. 72210, with Pastor John Tracy and Pastor B.L.
