Arvoca Phillips Gilliam

Little Rock, AR, 1918 - 2010

Arvoca Phillips Gilliam went home Wednesday, July 14. She was born January 9, 1918 in Braymer, Missouri to J.O. and Elizabeth Phillips. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.D. Hankins, Jr., who was the father to her two daughters; Mrs. Richard (Jana) Berryhill of Little Rock and Mrs. David (Susan) Mellor of Chattanooga. Her second husband, Byron Blankenship predeceased her as did J.A. Gilliam, her husband of 25 years.
She leaves seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Surviving relatives include her daughters, brother, Jeston Phillips, niece, Mrs. Glen (Barbara) House of Searcy, and nephew, Gary Simpson of Plano. She was a member of the church of Christ and lived her life as a Godly woman who left a legacy of faith.
The family is grateful to the Memory Center at Chenal Heights Assisted Living Facility in Little Rock, and Hospice Home Care Inpatient Center of Little Rock for their tender, loving care in her final days. Arrangements for private memorial service are under the direction of Powell Funeral Home.
