George Martin Binns

George Martin Binns Sr., 83, left his earthy home Sunday July 18, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents Susie and Lamar Binns Sr., a brother, Edward Lamar Binns Jr. and sister, Shirley Binns Talley. A Lifetime resident of McGehee, he worked for MOP-UP R.R. for 44 years. He was a WWII veteran and Korean Conflict Veteran serving in U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member and a Deacon of First Baptist Church of McGehee, a mason and member of Claude C. Jayne American Legion Post # 79. He was an avid sports fan and loved his McGehee Owls. George is survived by his wife Patsy Avery Binns of McGehee, two sons: George "Marty" Binns Jr. (Lisa) of Jonesboro and David Alan Binns (Christy) of McGehee, four grandchildren: Kelsie (Morgan) Schwartz, Kayla (Dustin) McMahan, Rafe Binns and Jonathan Binns, one step-grandson, Denton Botsford, and great-grandson, Keaton Kash McMahan. Visitation at Griffin Funeral Service will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services at First Baptist Church of McGehee with Pastor Ed Balducci officiating, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial at McGehee Cemetery under the directions of Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee.
