Zack "Z. T" Kimbrell

Zack "Z. T." Kimbrell, 89, a resident of Star City, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born June 4, 1920, in Calmer, Arkansas, he was a son of Zack Taylor and Mary Anna Hopson Kimbrell. Mr. Kimbrell was reared and received his early education in Rison. Zackery Taylor Kimbrell married Maggie Shaw on September 19, 1939, in Glendale, Arkansas. Mr. Kimbrell worked for Wofford Manufacturing Company, the Arkansas Highway Department, as a freelance carpenter, and as a farmer. He was a member of the New Home Baptist Church. Mr. Kimbrell was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother, and three grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Maggie Kimbrell of Star City; one daughter, Margaret Rawls of Woodlawn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby "Sonny" and Lowella Kimbrell, and Jimmy and Carolyn Kimbrell of Pine Bluff; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ervie Clark of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Elmer Kimbrell and Leland Kimbrell both of Fort Worth, Texas. The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Don Borland officiating.
