Dr. James Roger Grissom

Dr. James Roger Grissom, 63, of Little Rock passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Born November 8, 1946 at Jonesboro son of Cecil and Ethrene Rice Grissom. He was a 1964 Hoxie High School Graduate. Dr. Grissom was a Hematologist and Oncologist with Little Rock Hematology/Oncology Associates and of the Methodist belief. He was united in marriage to Neena Shipman June 26, 1976. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Grissom. Survivors include his wife, Neena Grissom of the home; his mother, Ethrene Grissom of Walnut Ridge; a sister, Sara Gilliam and husband Johnny of Hoxie; two nieces, Hayley Harbaugh of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Sonya Dry of Walnut Ridge; three nephews, Matt Gilliam of Jonesboro, Brian Shipman of Memphis and Jake Harbaugh of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Service will be Thursday June 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Hoxie Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Winberry officiating. Pallbearers will be, Matt Gilliam, Johnny Gilliam, Eric Dry, Mark Harbaugh, Harold Shipman and Brian Shipman. Interment will be in the Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. till time of service at the Hoxie Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
