Viola Mae Shannon

Mrs. Viola Mae Shannon, age 83, of Benton died Monday June 7, 2010 at her home. She was born October 8, 1926 in Hot Springs to the late Samuel and Maybelle Berry Ritter. Viola retired from the Revenue Dept. in Benton after 23 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Roy, sisters, Tavy Adams and Dotsie Mushrush. Survivors, son, Alan Ray Shannon, Benton; daughter, Rhonda Kay Shannon, Benton; sister, Neelie Johnson, Paron; granddaughter, Sierra Shannon. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Old Rosemont Cemetery. Minister will be Dr. Rick Grant. Family will be staying at 727 North Main Street. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Ashby's.
