Ralph S. Martin

Ralph S. Martin, 72, of Monticello passed away Monday, June 21, 2010, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born October 1, 1937, in Smackover, Arkansas, to Joseph Martin and Myrtle Langley Barr. Ralph worked as a self-employed farmer. He was a master gardener, liked to hunt and fish, and was a very talented "Jack of all Trades". Ralph was a wonderful husband, father, and papaw, and a gentleman who will be missed by family and friends. Preceding him in death were his father and a brother Billy Martin. Survivors include his mother, Myrtle Langley Barr of Smackover; his wife, Barbara Jones Martin of Monticello; two daughters, Sherrie Martin of Colorado, and Vicki Martin of Hot Springs; a son, Michael Smith and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan, and Conner Smith all of Cherokee Village. Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday at Arlington Memorial Park with Brother Vaughn Blue Jr. officiating and under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Tribute Program, P.O.
