Hershel Duke

Hershel Duke peacefully went to be with the Lord, June 25, 2010 at the age of 87. He was born June 20, 1923 to the late John and Pearl Duke. After graduating Pine Bluff High School he served in the Air Force during WWII as apart of the Glider Corp. He owned and operated Ideal Furniture Co. and served as Pine Bluff Alderman for 20 years. He was appointed by the mayor as Fire & Police Commissioner for 16 years and was founder of the mini parks in Pine Bluff. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorris Snow Duke, and one sister. Survivors include daughter, Linda Duke Norton and husband Scotty; son, John "Bubba" Duke and wife Deborah; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
