Darrell Dunkerson

Darrell Dunkerson, age 64, of Rose Bud, Arkansas, went to be with his heavenly Father November 16, 2010, after a short bout with pancreatic cancer. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on April 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Herbert and Glenna (Barnes) Dunkerson. Darrell was retired from twenty years in the United States Navy Seabees and also retired from 20 years with the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Darrell had also been a cattle rancher for 16 years. He was a member of the Rose Bud First Baptist Church. Darrell was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Glenna Dunkerson; and by one brother-in-law, Tracy Williamson. He is survived by his wife, Jan of Rose Bud; daughters, Kim Smith and husband, Kevin, of Conway and Loi Chambers of Little Rock; grandchildren, Kyli and Keith Smith of Conway; brother, Harold Dunkerson and wife, Regina, of Blytheville; sisters, Wanda Morrison of Mt. Home, Sandra Walker of Manila, and Donna Dunkerson of Monticello, Minnesota, father-in-law, Ashlin and Alice Williamson of Austin, Texas; mother-in-law, Olivia Dennis and the late Herald Dennis of Cooter, Missouri; brother-in-law, Barry Williamson and wife, Holly, of Austin, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Cathy Hudson of Cooter, Missouri, Karen Tepovich and husband, Nick, of Humble, Texas, and Alecia Lybrand and husband, Gary, of Soldotna, Alaska. Darrell is also survived by other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Rose Bud First Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Vickers officiating, and military honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Rose Bud First Baptist Church. www.olmstead.cc.
