Mildred Lou Hunter

Mildred Louise "Lou" Hunter, 65, of El Dorado, died on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born on Nov. 7, 1945 in El Dorado. She was the daughter of Burnette and Mildred Massey Shutes. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She received her masters degree from Southern State University in Magnolia. She completed her Principals Certification at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. She taught in the Norphlet Public Schools, where she retired in 1997 as the elementary school principal. She was a member of First Baptist Church/620 Cordell Street, where she served in the Usher Board Ministry. Survivors are her husband, Wendell Hunter of El Dorado; a daughter, Shanalyn L. Hunter Yarber of Texarkana; a brother, Charles R. Shutes of El Dorado and two sisters, Patricia Shutes Lockhart and Betty Shutes Christopher of El Dorado. Funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church/Cordell. The Rev. Pierce L. Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in El Dorado by Andrews Funeral Home.
