Vera E. Taylor, 87, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 24, 2010. She was born October 17, 1923 at Kensett, Arkansas to Will and Aurilla Purcell. She married John D. Taylor on July 12, 1943. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, a founding member of Metropolitan Lioness Club, and an active member holding many offices, serving in many capacities at Pulaski Heights Lions Club. She was co-owner of Major Welding Supply, Incorporated. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers, Bill, L.E., John, Max, George, and Jim Purcell. Survivors include her children Pat Bona (James), Jimmy Taylor (Trâm), Debby Caudle (Bryce) and Rilla Kay Mays; grandchildren, Jimmy Bona, Brian Caudle (Laurie Boyd), Crystal (Caudle) Young (Willie), Justin Taylor, John Tyler Mays and Erin Taylor Mays; great-grandchildren, Madison Bona, Jay Bona and Liam Young; also many nieces and nephews. She leaves a legacy of love and followed the example of Christ with her tireless and unselfish devotion to her family and others. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2010 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
