Burnice Garner

Mr. Burnice D. Garner, 93, of Benton, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant. Burnice was born July 22, 1917 in Newark, Ark., to the late Neal and Dessie Bottoms Garner. He was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church of Benton. Burnice is survived by two sons, Phillip (Karen) of Benton and Dennis (Ann) of Benton. He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife of 67 years, Mildred McClure Garner. He is survived by one sister, Bonnie Winchell, of Dubuque, Iowa, five grandchildren, Amy Garner Ellison (Joey), Nathan Garner (Deena), Alisha Garner Jones (Cody), Ryan Adams (Ashley) and Carrie Adams. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Mica and Aslyn Garner and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Pine Crest Memorial Park. Military honors will be performed at the cemetery.
