William Dalton "Bill" Brumley

William Dalton "Bill" Brumley, of Alexander, was an avid fisherman who looked forward to crappie season with his Camping "Family." He enjoyed roaming the country with his best friend and wife of 60 years Elwanda Brumley. They spent 20 years living in various locations from Newfoundland, Canada, Anchorage, Alaska, Bossier City, Louisiana, Altus, Oklahoma, and North Little Rock, Arkansas, before retiring from the US Air Force in 1971. After settling in Saline County, he went to work for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock were he retired from their security department after 17 years in 1988. Bill spent his retirement camping, fishing, grandparenting, and cheering on his Dallas Cowboys and Arkansas Razorbacks. He was born September 18, 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Lois and William Horace Brumley. The Lord escorted him home peacefully on September 1. 2010. He is survived by his wife Elwanda Brumley, a daughter, and son-in-law Debi and Bub Dawson, a son and daughter-in-law Mike and Dea Brumley, grandchildren Gina and Travis Bull, Sara Brumley, and Jake Brumley along with numerous cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with the Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice Chaplin, Kim Hammer officiating. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2010 at the funeral home.
