David Arthur Ludvigson

DAVID ARTHUR LUDVIGSON, age 62, lost his nearly life-long battle with diabetes Sept. 4, 2010. He was born Janu. 31, 1948, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Melvin Arthur and Dorothy (Wooley) Ludvigson. He grew up in Minneapolis and Stacy, Minn. David was an expert in electronics. When only in high school he was able to put together a machine that enabled an almost totally paralyzed friend to communicate with ham radio. He attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis and was a certified and published NABER technician, with an associates degree in industrial electronics. He was a published author with articles appearing in several technology magazines, among them Mobile Radio Technology. He was especially proud of having won an award for one of the Nationally Rated "Top 50 Inventions of 1998." He worked independently in Minnesota and South Dakota before moving to Houston, Texas where he taught at ITT Technical Institute until his health forced him to retire to Little Rock where he lived with his parents and brother, until he had to go into a care center. David is survived by his parents; his daughter, Gretchen (Brian) Schulz, and their children Brian Louis and Cyrus Jacob all of Minneapolis; two step-children, Jon (Julie) Ludvigson of Arizona and Julie Darland of Minneapolis. He also leaves his brothers, Dan of Little Rock and Tim (Debbie) Ludvigson of Big Sandy, Texas and their sons, Ryan, Brent, Andrew and Phillip. A private service is being arranged.
