Stephen Kendall Murdock, 50, of Little Rock, born August 30, 1960 to the late Richard Murdock Jr. and Ella Jean Hayes Dunbar, departed this life September 6, 2010. Stephen attended school in North Little Rock and later joined the Marine Corps in 1978. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1996 and his Master's Degree in 2006 in Education from UALR. He was currently working toward a Master's in Public Administration. Stephen was a teacher at Martin Luther King Elementary School. Stephen joined St. Mark on June 9, 1991. His love for Christ was Ministry. Stephen accepted his calling to preach the Word of God and was ordained at St. Mark in 1994. He was one of the founders and the Current Director of CALEB Group ("Conquering Addictions Living Everyday Blessed"). Stephen was a great golfer and his love for the game earned him many friends. Stephen was united in marriage to Andrea Johnson on October 15, 1994 and to this union one son, Joshua was born. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Andrea Murdock; his children, Sha (Darius) Lognion, Kendall Aaron Murdock of San Antonio, Texas, Joshua McCall Murdock of Little Rock; mother, Ella Jean Hayes Dunbar of North Little Rock; mother-in-law, Deborah Johnson; of Horatio, Ark.; siblings, Chiquita (Barry) Shackelford; Richela (John) McFee, Jackie Strong, Keitra Murdock, Richard Murdock, Thomas Johnson, Bernardra (Chris) Martin, two grandchildren, D.J. and Sharis Lognion and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Family hour: 6-7 p.m. Thursday and Funeral: 11 a.m., Friday, both to be held at St. Mark Baptist Church, Bishop Steven Arnold officiating.
