Blessed with a heart for service to be a blessing to others Pauline Isabell Moore Hilliard was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on January 18th 1923, to Craven Harris Moore and Selma Alabama Smith Moore. She died September 7th, 2010 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. She was the youngest of six children and is survived be one sister, Jewel Elizabeth Moore of Conway Arkansas. In 1943 she began teaching school in Keiser, Arkansas where she taught the first grade for 28 years. It was there she met Joe B. Hilliard and they were married following three months of courtship. The marriage stayed firm and happy for the remaining 66 years of her life. She lived her life with an unequaled assurance of Gods love for her and His guiding hand in her life. Pauline did not judge people. She loved and showed kindness to each life she touched. She was passionate in serving Jesus Christ. She was a loving and compassionate volunteer serving as a leader in Cub Scouts, 4-H Club, teaching Sunday school and other community activities. She never lost her joy of teaching and helping others and continued to tutor adults and children until her death. One of her recent joys was the knitting baby caps for Arkansas Childrens Hospital. It was said she had the prettiest hair in Mississippi County and gorgeous legs of note which were used until age 80 to prove her agility turning cartwheels! Pauline is survived by her husband Joseph Benjamin Hilliard and her three children, Carol Ann Burns (David), Cordova, Tenn., Joseph Michael Hilliard (Sue,) Houston Texas and Paul Moore Hilliard (Carla), Cordova Tenn. She had three grandchildren, Christy Ford of Cordova, Tenn., Micheal Hilliard of Dallas Texas and Stacy Hilliard of London England and one step-grandchild of Little Rock Ark., Drew Crawford. She had eight great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at Keiser United Methodist Church in Keiser, Ark. where she was a member for 66 years. Burial is at Union Grove Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. on Sept. 10th, 2010.
