Charles O. McKenzie

Heber Springs, AR, 1935 - 2010

Charles O. McKenzie, 74, of Heber Springs passed away on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Dermott, Ark., to the late Otis L. McKenzie and Athea T. McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Monteen Goyne; his wife, Patsy J. McKenzie; his son, John Mark McKenzie; his grandson, Samuel Charles McKenzie; and granddaughters, Andrea Dorothy and Abigail Jacqueline McKenzie. He is survived by his son, Charles Gregory McKenzie with wife Laura of Richmond, Va.; and his daughter, Lori Ann McKenzie of Heber Springs, Ark. Charles served his country in the Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs. He was a caring, witty and generous leader, friend and father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs. Burial will follow at the Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank First Baptist Church of Heber Springs and Hospice for their love and care.
