Dennis F. Austin, 58, of Little Rock, departed this life on Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Little Rock. Dennis was part of a musical family and was the drummer in the Lou Austin and the Compatibles Band. He was the youngest demolay member in the State of Arkansas at the age of 14. He enjoyed outdoor sports, music, family and friends. Dennis is survived by his wife Pat; his mother Argie; his sister Jan Braham; his daughters Lisa (Joe) Bush, Heather (Heath) Rounsavall, Dawn Bell (Nick) Kosmatov; his sons Mike Bell and Steve Long; his six grandchildren and one great grandchild along with a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank Dr. Butchalak Garlapati and Dr. Robert Brewer for the years of compassionate care provided to Dennis. We would also like to thank Dr. Rhonda Gentry and her staff for their devotion and excellent care Dennis received in his fight with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 20th, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Reverend James Thomason officiating.
