James E. Davis

James E. Davis, 74, of North Little Rock, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born June 30, 1936 near Newport, Arkansas to Irving Richard and Melissa Davis. James was a printer by trade, having worked for the Arkansas Gazette, and was the owner of Jimmy's Lawnmower Service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Big Rock Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and gardening; and especially loved his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marjorie Davis. He is survived by two daughters, Starlia Aubrey and her husband Mike of North Little Rock, Zina Beth Underwood of Cabot, Arkansas; two grandchildren, James Matthew Aubrey and Lucas Eliott Underwood; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Hunter, and Fisher Underwood; one brother, J.W. Davis; two sisters, Anna Bell Davis Jackson and Alice Marie Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of James's life will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501)835-3515.
