JEAN HARTNETT BAUMANN, 92, of Little Rock died Saturday, April 9, surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 25, 1919, in Binghamton, N.Y., she was predeceased by her husband Loren, with whom she had a loving marriage of 63 years, and her daughter Susan Baumann. A loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a strong believer in her Catholic faith, Jean was an inspiration for others with her famous smile and genuine concern for anyone in need. Jean was instrumental in developing Christ the King church's participation in the We Care community service program in Higgins, Ark. A charter member of Christ the King, she helped establish the Fatima Club, a rosary prayer group, in the late 1960s. She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Kemp (Bill) and sons Michael Baumann (Jane Harris) of South Orange, N.J., and Peter Baumann (Mary Allyn Butler) of Jenkintown, Pa. She will be missed by her six grandchildren, who adored her sense of humor and unfailing interest in their lives: Susan Bransford of Little Rock, Hastings Bransford IV of Fayetteville, Ark.; Caroline Bransford of Charlotte, N.C.; Lauren Baumann and Chris Baumann, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Tom Baumann of New York, N.Y.. Visitation will be Monday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King, officiated by Monsignor Frances Malone. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Monsignor Hebert endowment fund for Christ the King Catholic School. Among the many who provided assistance to Jean, the Baumann family wishes to thank in particular Tanya Seymour, Kathy Henley, and Melvin Carter.
