Montine (Pledger) Parish Tipton, 91, of Bee Branch passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011 in Bald Knob. She was born on Saturday, January 31, 1920 in Bee Branch to the late J.A. and Ila (Lesley) Pledger. Her lifetime home was in Bee Branch until four years ago, when she went to Bald Knob to live with her daughter and her husband. She was the oldest member of Bee Branch Baptist Church and the last surviving child of Mr. and Mrs. Pledger. She loved her family, her church, and Bee Branch. She regularly attended Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob with her family. She was a graduate of the 1938 class of South Side High School. Montine is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Parish) and her husband George Odom of Bald Knob; two granddaughters, Susan (Odom) and husband Forrest Cassell of Springdale, and Lu Ann (Odom) and husband Nick Blackard of Fort Smith; one great-granddaughter, Addyson Montine Cassell of Springdale; sisters-in-law, Edith Pledger of California, and Reba (Parish) Stark of Bee Branch; two step-sons, Nelson Tipton and wife Bea of Arkadelphia, and Lindsey Tipton and wife Sandra of North Little Rock and their families and the children of the late Clayton and Carolyn Tipton; nieces and nephews, Jim Pledger of California, Kathy Hillman of Iowa, Bonnie Green and Jeannie Dykes of Fayetteville; Danny and Phil DeTroy of Iowa, Nancy Palmer of California, Harold Stark of Bee Branch, Linda Linn of Conway, and Jeanne Dale of Bryant. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Otheal, and James Pledger; three sisters, Doris Hillman, Danna Scanlan, and Erma DeTroy, and their husbands; two husbands, Troy Parish in 1971 and Garland Tipton in 1984; and a step-son, Clayton Tipton. Services will be held at 3 p.m., on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Bee Branch Baptist Church in Bee Branch with Brother Sam Brown and Brother Paul Reams officiating. Burial will follow in Bee Branch Cemetery with Brother Marshal Boggs officiating with Forrest Cassell, Nick Blackard, Harold Stark, Danny Linn, Nelson Tipton, and Lindsey Tipton, serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m., on Friday at the church before the service. Memorials may be made to Bee Branch Baptist Church, Bee Branch Cemetery, or to Hospice Home Care, 1200 S.
