Billy Jack "Mousie" Patchell

Billy Jack "Mousie" Patchell of Quitman, Arkansas, age 74, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends on April 13, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He leaves behind his loving family and a host of friends. Billy was a lifelong resident of Quitman. He worked for Alltel Telephone Company for forty years before retiring in 1995. He was an avid gardener and loved the beaches of Destin. After his retirement he developed a love for the game of golf and played many rounds of golf as a member of the Thunderbird Country Club in Heber Springs. Billy was born on July 6, 1936, as the youngest son to the late Hazel and Roy Patchell of Quitman. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers Doyne, Gene, and E.L. Patchell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Patchell and three daughters, Sharon Eldred of Sherwood, Cynthia Kennedy and husband Bobby of Quitman, and Sandra Morehart and husband Travis of Bossier City, La. Billy was blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Daniel Morehart and wife Kim, Laura Kennedy Silver and husband, Tooter, Kimberly Kennedy Weber and husband Wesley, Stephen Morehart and friend Kendall Harmon, and Sara Eldred; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Dylan, and Paige Morehart and Braden Weber. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. James Suen and Dr. Mauirco Moreno for their care and concern for our beloved family member. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Center Point General Baptist Church in Quitman. Burial will follow in the Center Point Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott, Mark, and Jeremy Duncan, his nephews, Daniel and Stephen Morehart, and Sara Eldred, his grandchildren, and Junior Tapley and M.A. Peedin. Bro.
