Faye Ratcliff, age 79, of Malvern, died Monday evening, April 18, 2011 in the St. Joseph Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. She was born in Rolla, Arkansas on October 30, 1931 to the late Carl Tucker and Nellie Gelvin Tucker. Reared and educated in Leola, Arkansas, she was the widow of the late Bob Ratcliff, to whom she was married on May 12, 1950 in Hot Spring County. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1996. After raising her children, she managed the Little Store at Malvern High School. She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, was an avid reader, and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Her survivors include two sons, Steve Ratcliff and his wife Marga, of Little Rock, and Dan Ratcliff and his wife Mary, of Lexington Park, Maryland; a daughter, Patti Miley and her husband Mike, of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Kyle Read, Kristin Ratcliff, Meagan Jackson and her husband Blake, Aaron Miley, Ryan Ratcliff, and Katie Miley; as well as one great-granddaughter, Olivia Jackson. The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home from five to seven on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. The funeral will be on Thursday morning, April 21, 2011, at ten o'clock in the sanctuary of St. Paul United Methodist Church with Reverend Dooley Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Lono Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Troy Cate, Jack Clayton, Danny Dunlap, Mike Fite, Terry Henson, and Jerry Strother. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kermit Baker, Judd Batts, Wallace Hall, Ken Henry, Ronnie Matlock, and Al Rogge. Memorials are requested to Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901, or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Malvern.
