Raymond Hackler went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2011 at the age of 93. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Oather Hackler and brothers, Lloyd Hackler and Harold Hackler. He is survived by the love of his life, his precious wife of 64 years, Jessie Bowman Hackler, daughter, Kathy Hackler Cooper, son, Stephen Hackler, sister, Helen Hackler Johnson and his best friend - his dog Petey. He also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews. Raymond proudly served his country in the Army for the duration of World War II, serving in Alaska and the Philippines. He also served in the CCC's preceding his World War II service. Raymond worked almost fifty years at J. B. Cook Auto Parts, serving as shipping clerk. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Little Rock. People who knew him well admired his character; he was a kind and considerate man - a true gentleman. To his hunting companions he was known as an amazing marksman and great sportsman. He loved his Lord, his family and his country. Graveside service with military honors will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Saturday morning at 10 a.m., conducted by Dr. James Thomasson; pallbearers will be nephews Quentin Bowman, Jr., Robert Bowman, James Bowman and family friends James Goodnight, Davis Hendricks, Keith Stuart, David Higginbotham and Grisham Phillips.
