Sarah "Nelle" Scott, 93, of Conway, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011. She was born Dec. 20, 1917 in Augusta, Ark., to the late Alexander C. McGregor and the late Mamie Nell Matthews McGregor. Mrs. Scott graduated from A.S.T.C. (UCA) in 1939 with a BSE in elementary education and home economics and worked as an assistant to Mrs Torreyson in McAlister Hall meeting many students. In 1943 she married Wallace Scott. During his time in the Air Force they lived in six southern states and Madrid, Spain. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Conway where she served as a past president of the Presbyterian Women. Her activities included garden club, bridge club, Conway Civic, and UCA Alumni Half Century Club. She loved gardening and providing food for her family and was very active for the last three years at College Square. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved step-mother, Mary Odell Eskew McGregor; two sisters, Hattye Fletcher and Jean Peebles; two brothers, Tommye and Henry McGregor; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Burns. Survivors are daughters, Sarah "Scotty" Keller and Martha and her husband Dr. Rex Ross, all of Conway; two sisters, Virginia Donohugh of California and Sallye Ruth Owens of Pine Bluff; a brother, Dr. Cooper McGregor of Texas; three grandchildren, Mary Christy Shackelford (Loren), Amy Burns (Greg) and David Ross (Emily); and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel (501)327-7727. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
