Mary Horton Cotton of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 12, 1934 in the Ain Community (Grant County), the daughter of the late James Chester and Rellie Strain Horton. She was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan, was a homemaker and loved watching the birds in her yard. Mrs. Cotton died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 76. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Verlon Horton and sisters, Ruth Williams and Mabel Walker. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, J.W. Cotton of Sheridan; sons, Stan and wife Margaret Cotton of Maumelle, Ricky Cotton of Jonesboro; daughters, Lynn Blancett and husband Johnny, Jeannie Dunigan and husband Roger, Sr. and Amanda Warren and husband Adam, all of Jonesboro; former daughter-in-law, Angela Cotton of Little Rock; brothers, Wallace Horton and Carl Horton of Sheridan and Harold Horton of Guam; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and caregivers, Diana Craven and Karen Baldwin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Although the services will conclude at the funeral home, burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation: Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan.
