Jesse D. Morphew, 85, of Cabot, died Thursday, Aug. 18. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years Rosemary Hartwig Morphew and son Darrell B. Morphew. He is survived by his daughter Marsha King and her husband Kevin and their two sons Chad and Brandon of Little Rock and dear friend Linda Tripp. Jesse worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad 30 years until he retired. He served in the Army in Japan where he met and became a good friend of General Douglas MacArthur. Jesse was born April 27, 1926, in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, the son of Virgil and Jessie Morphew. He had three brothers, Verl, Bernard and Walter, and three sisters, Vera, Dorothy and Leota. He was a member of the Big Rock Masonic Lodge #633 in North Little Rock. He will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Cabot, Ark., with graveside service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, with Pastor Danny Burleson officiating. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
